Who we are
Immobilization stand is a Finnish innovation in limb healthcare. The stand originated from a Turku-based cast technician who, while serving as an army medic, wanted to improve the treatment of limbs. It was later discovered that this solution helps with a wide range of healthcare needs, from casting and limb immobilization to applying bandages and wound care.
Later on, Pekka Nätti went on to study engineering. As a result, the Immobilization stand has been designed by both a hands-on healthcare professional and an engineer. The goal is to develop limb care in a comprehensive and more efficient way without compromising the quality of care.

The invention becomes public
Spring 2024
Pekka Nätti was an army medic and developed a support device for treating conscripts’ feet. In 2024, the invention gained public attention after receiving a grant from the Finnish Invention Foundation. Later, a local newspaper also published an article about the invention. Product patenting also started at the beginning of the year.
Collaboration and support for the project
Fall 2024
The project was included in the Spark Finland program thanks to the encouragement of the Turku Health Campus. This led to the development of many fruitful collaborations. The Innovation Center for the Southwest Finland Wellbeing Region also closely participated in the collaboration.
Product patenting, regulation and development progressing
In 2025, the product was presented for the first time at a trade fair in Copenhagen. The patenting of the product is progressing and new applications have been filed. The regulation of the medical device is also progressing.
2025
New prototypes of the product. Product testing and regulatory requirements completion. After this, the Immobilization Stand will be launched on the market!
